Serval Cat Pencil Drawing-WIP

This is the latest pencil drawing that im working on, this one will measure 11″x14″. Its another big cat. I just love drawing these beautiful animals. I love the challenge of all the hair and the textures. This cat is not as popular as the more recognized ones, such as tiger,lion or jaguar. I decided to draw this cat because of its unique beauty. What caught my attention from these cats were their eyes. They have such incredible eyes, they are large and so full of life. So far i have done the eyes only and i tried to put in as much detail as possible. I used the same techniques explained in the “drawing realistic cat eyes” tutorial. So if you read that tutorial you can have a better idea of how i went about getting the detail.
I believe that you can’t give life to an drawing without adding that special spark to their eyes. You can have just the outline of an animal, but if you are able to capture the eyes, you won’t need anything else to bring the drawing to life. All i have so far in this drawing are the eyes and you can see what im talking about. The detail that i will be adding to this drawing will be like no other. I want to draw the hair as realistic as possible but without losing the feel of a pencil drawing. There isn’t much that i can explain in what i have so far, but with each update i will give a brief description on the technique and how to go about adding details. ACEO Speed Pencil Male Gorilla Drawing

Well here is another speed drawing that i recently finished. I love textures and contrast and this drawing has both of those things. These are always great to work on hopefully you will enjoy it. Making these drawings help me in improving techniques and control of pencil. Its a great way to also increase the time that you spend adding texture since they are smaller you take your time.Tools Used:-Pencils 5h,2h

Well here is the second speed drawing that i have done so far. This one took me a bit longer to finish but it was worth it. It measures 2.5″x3.5″ and even though its small in size, its full of detail. I love drawing lions because of the simple reason that they are so beautiful and powerful.Tools Used:

Speed Pencil Drawing of Silverback Gorilla

I’m going to be drawing an animal everyday live on this blog. You can view it live on the screen that is on the right side where there is a picture of a tabby cat. I have done two so far. I have this silver back gorilla and a lion. They are both miniature drawings and the video is sped up because they take me around 2 hours to finish. I put lots of detail into these drawings even though they are small. I use all the techniques in these videos that i have used in the tutorials, so hopefully these videos will give you a better idea of how i use them.
