My goal with this website is to help you improve your pencil drawings. Im always looking for ways to add better content and write the tutorials with as much detail as possible. The better you understand the techniques the easier it will be for you implement them. This tutorial will be the first of many video tutorials. The quality of the video is not the best so im planning on adding HD tutorials which will greatly improve the way i can teach. The more detail you are able to see in these videos the more you will understand. If you would like to help please chip in by going to the link at the end of this video tutorial. I’d really appreciate it and will will help improve the quality of this website.

I’m always asked what tools i use on my drawing and that is the main reason i decided to make this video. I will add links after the video if anyone is interested in purchasing these materials. These are tools that i use and please don’t assume all other pencil artists use the same. They work with my style and have helped me great results. If you have any questions or if i miss anything in the video, please contact me or leave a comment.

Tools:

Wood Cased Pencils-The pencils that i showed in this video are the ones i use most. If its possible i recommend that you have most of the pencil grades. Not only will they come in handy at one point or another, but it will let you test them out and see how they work. It will also make these tutorials much easier because i might use different pencils, depending on what i’ll be drawing. Buy

Progresso Pencils:

Caran d’Ache Grafstone Woodless Graphite Pencils Caran d’Ache Grafstone Woodless Graphite PencilsCaran d’Ache has drawn on its expertise and explored the deepest graphite mines to search out the infinite color nuances of carbon. The result is the Graphite Line, an original concept dedicated to graphite that gives artists the opportunity to compose their own graphite range and explore all the shades of black. An integral part of this line is the Grafstone woodless graphite pencil. Grafstone pencils contain pure graphite leads that can be adapted equally well to very large or very small formats. Available in 3 degrees of hardness, they are ideal for broad applications and, after careful sharpening, very precise drawing. I use these pencils when covering large areas in pencil.

Color Shapers:

Colour Shapers are a revolutionary tool for painting, drawing, lifting, and blending. Invented by artists for artists, Colour Shapers combine tradition with exciting new technology. The durable tips are made of an advanced rubber composite.

Apply oil or acrylic paint straight from the tube with a Colour Shaper, and then use it to carve back into the paint for a variety of texture and surface effects. The tool easily lifts paint from the surface or draws lines, contours, and edges on the color.

With seamless nickel ferrules and lacquered hardwood handles, they offer the quality needed by dedicated artists. To clean, simply dip the tips in water or solvent and wipe with a cloth. Don’t worry — dried color just peels away!

Available in Soft or Firm tips. The ivory-colored tip is soft and designed for responsiveness with fluid and soft colors. The gray tip is firm and offers better control over heavy bodied paints. Choose your size, shape, and firmness, or try a sampler set of 5.

Sets of 5 — One of each tip, including Taper Point, Cup Round, Cup Chisel, Flat Chisel, and Angle Chisel. Available in Firm or Soft.

Mini Sets of 5 — Just like their larger counterparts but these are only 1/8″ wide, size 0.Buy
