Eevee Pokemon
Well this is something different from what i usually draw. Its still an animal but a different kind of animal. The reason i decided to draw this one is because of my nephew. He is 4 years old and loves Pokemon. I had the idea when i noticed that most of the characters on that show are animals. This is one of the characters from that show. Since most Pokemon are representations of actual animals, i decided to draw one and add a bit of realism to it. This one is similar to a fox,named Eevee, so i had to use reference photos of a red fox and fennec fox. My goal was to capture the look of the actual Pokemon but give the fur realism. Its hard to see it realistically because it doesn’t actually exist. Your eyes have never seen an animal like this so you can’t compare it to anything for you to decide whether it looks realistic or not. Here is a picture of the Pokemon so you know what it looks like on the show. I did not take much time on the grass and was just for effect. It was a fun project and hopefully i can try out other Pokemon and see what i can come up with. Its interesting to try to bring these two dimensional creatures to a three dimensional reality. I used the same techniques that i use on my animal drawings and I’m pretty happy with the results. Here is a close up image so you can see how much detail i put into it. Hopefully i don’t get any Pokemon fans angry by giving them my interpretation of what they would look like in real life. I decided to change the eyes on this one and make them more like the eyes of a Fennec fox. I’ve been getting comments from people saying that this Pokemon should be more happier looking. Well, like i mentioned before, this is my interpretation of what this animal would look in real life. My goal wasn’t to make it look like the Pokemon on the show. I want it to be recognizable but also wanted to give it realism, and by doing that some of the charm from the show was going to be lost. Here is what it looked like before
