This is my first still life in pencil. I loved the fire and the texture that the glass has. Because of the reflections and light bouncing off the glass, it made it a really interesting subject to work with. For sure this will be the first of many more still lifes. There was a lot of blending involved with this drawing, especially on the glasses. I used different sized shading stumps and chamois to get smooth textures. This drawing does not have much texture which i like to include in all my drawings, but it does have many reflections. The reason why i enjoy drawing eyes is because of the reflections and this is the reason why i enjoyed working on this one. The light from the flame and the glass makes it a unique drawing to look at.
